Fruit cake
1. Grease & flour 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan.
2. Combine date bar mix and water until crumbly.
3. Add eggs, flour, baking powder, molasses & spices.
4. Fold in nuts & cherries.
5. Pour into pan.
6. Bake at 325o F for 80 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
7. Cool.
Sesame Toffee Apple Wedges
Ingredients
50 g sesame seeds

Method
- Place sugar in a saucepan with 100-120ml of cold water and simmer, stirring until completely dissolved. Once the sugar dissolves, bring to boil and bubble rapidly until it begins to color.
- Meanwhile, with strong scissors, cut on 8 bamboo skewers in half and cut the pointed ends. With a small, sharp knife, cut each apple into 8 wedges and a slice of the core. dry with a paper towel and press firmly on the skewer in each wedge Pat.
- After the caramel has set, but still a bit hot, serve slices of apple or sweet style, or in a bowl with a spoonful of sorbet.
Halloween Drink and Punch Recipes
Ingredients:
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 pineapple preserves
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 large pretzel rod, broken in half
4-ounces cream cheese, softened
Dark rye bread
Red pepper
Black olive slices
Parsley sprigs
Assorted crackers
How to Prepare:
1. Beat cheeses, pumpkin, preserves and in medium bowl until smooth. Cover refrigerate 2 to 3 hours until cheese is firm enough to shape.
2. Shape mixture into round pumpkin, place on serving plate.Using a knife, score vertical lines down Place pretzel rod in top for stem. Cut bread into triangles for eyes, cut red pepper into triangle for nose, and cut olives in half to make the mouth. Surround with parsley.
3. Serve with assorted crackers
Meanwhile, if you are looking for a Halloween Punch recipe, we can recommend the so-called “Eyeball Potion“. Here’s how to do it:
Ingredients:
1 (8-ounce) container nondairy whipped topping, partially thawed
24 blueberries
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 (6-ounce) package gelatin, any red flavor
Ice cubes
1 cup cold water
How to Prepare:
1. Using a melon baller or small ice cream scoop, place 2 small scoops (about 2 tablespoons each) of whipped topping into each of 12 dessert dishes for “eyeballs.” Place a blueberry in each scoop for the “pupil”. Freeze 30 minutes or until firm.
2. Meanwhile stir boiling water into gelatin in large bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
3. Add enough ice to cold water to measure 2 1/2 Add to gelatin, stirring until slightly thickened. Remove any remaining ice.
4. Spoon gelatin into prepared dishes around each eyeball, leaving the top of the eyeballs exposed.Refrigerate 1 1/2 hours or until firm and make 12 servings.

- 1 1/2 cup of raw whole pumpkin seeds
- 2 teaspoons of melted butter
- 1 pinch of salt
Directions on how to cook pumpkin seeds in the oven:
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
- Toss seeds in a bowl with the melted butter and salt. Spread the seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown; stir occasionally.
